A glass sunroom extension for year round enjoyment

Customer Vision and Project Objective:

Pat and Wendy contacted us to discuss the possibility of closing in their outdoor undercover area. Wendy had strong views when it came to enclosing the area and she wanted to ensure that whatever we built made the area look and feel like a glass sunroom and not like so many of the cheap patio solutions where a perimeter of low quality doors and windows are used to close in the area. Wendy and Pat also had a one meter section of patio that extended past the covered area and they were interested in a glass roof of some sort for this section.

We discussed what the area was to be used for and determined that it was to become an additional living area that could be used year round. Weather proofing and security were essential as it was hoped that the new area could be integrated into the internal space and the large stacking door between the internal and patio could be predominantly left open.

Suncoast’s Custom Design Solution

Wendy and Pat’s desire to make the area look more like a glass sunroom was great news to our team, as ensuring any new structure looks like it was part of the original design is always one of our top priorities. In this project we had the added advantage of the patio extending past the existing roof. This meant that we could add a combination of a glass roof combined with louver banks and fixed glass in the wall panels to create a look that is anything but closed in. The glass roof allows for large amounts of light to stream into the area and the louvers add a touch of opulence that ensure the enclosure will never be confused for a simple patio enclosure.

In order to ensure the area is able to be used year round we added commercial sliding doors to each end that can be opened in conjunction with the 4 louver banks to give the nice open feeling on those perfect summer days. Stainless steel security doors allow for the area to be locked up without closing off the area entirely. Add a dog door for Chloe to have free access to the backyard and this glass enclosure was able to meet all of Pat and Wendy’s desires for a stylish enclosure that is in keeping with the design of their house.

“We wanted a space that we could use 52 weeks of the year and more of a permanent structure. I don’t like closed in patios so Goggled Conservatory’s and found Suncoast. I emailed in the first instance and then received a call from Rob.

After a measure and 3 drawings of idea’s with 3 different quotes to enable me to make an informed decision I was able to find the look I wanted.

Courtney visited for the final measure and I was advised the quote had a slight error…..to my surprise it was in my favour, which indicated to me the honesty and integrity of the company.

I was so delighted with the finished product, the work site was left spotless and the glass was cleaned. Even the down pipe that had to be moved was repainted (to my surprise). I could not speak highly enough of Suncoast and would be happy to recommend them to anyone, I would use the company again if need be.

No more mozzie, fly’s or heading inside when it rains. As for the doggy door….Chloe loves it.”
